Tuesday’s Tails: Featuring Judson

Today’s Featured Adoptable Dog is Judson

Judson is a black & tan dachshund that has been with
Furever Dachshund Rescue for over a year now.
He initially came to rescue after losing his human to an accident.
It was surely a very sad time for Judson, but it wasn’t very long
before he came to be known as a “class clown”.

Judson

See that pink showing on my nose?
It’s from doing the “dig and cover” routine.
If you have doxies, you know all about that!
Don’t worry, the fur fills back in in no time!

It’s really a mystery why Judson has been in rescue for so long.  Not only is he a very comical little guy, but he’s also very sweet and charming to everyone he meets.  He also gets along well with other dogs; and is even friendly to kids, which is not always the case with dachshunds.  Cats, however, he is uncertain about – as are most dogs who didn’t grow up sharing a home with cats.

Judson is completely housetrained, and will be glad to train you too… to feed him dinner, that is.  It seems he has a built-in alarm clock to let you know that it’s time for dinner, you know, in case you forget.  Don’t worry, he doesn’t beep… his alarm is set to “wee doxie howl”, as his foster puts it.

Believed to be approximately 7-8 years old, Judson is still very lively and playful.  At 14 pounds, he is not a mini or a standard, but somewhere in between… often known as a tweenie.  Like most doxies, he’s a love bug and is just looking for someone to share life with again.

See my middle picture? My nose is all good again. No worries.
And look at my eyes, they’re just beggin’ for lovins!

I cannot begin to imagine why someone hasn’t come for that sweet boy. He has such a happy smile and I sure hope that forever home gets a move on.

  2. What a sweet little man Judson is. We’ve got our paws crossed that his forever home is right around the corner. We’ll keep our ears open as we live in Rochester, NY, so you never know…..

It breaks my heart to see a dog in rescue period, but to be there for over a year, it’s awful. I wonder sometimes if it has to do with their age?

It’s great that you’re sharing him, thank you. I do hope he finds his forever home.
