This ‘N That Thursday: Lucky Dogs
Today we are joining 2 Brown Dawgs for This ‘N That Thursday Blog Hop.
“This ‘N That Thursday is for anything you want! Maybe you want to post about unrelated topics, or each topic isn’t quite long enough to make up a whole post, or you have awards to share, or you have one long post…anything goes! So grab the button and join the hop!”
The wieners and I had a little winning streak lately, and I’d like to share our loot and give big thank yous for our prizes.

Every month, on the 2nd Friday of the month, Sugar the Golden Retriever hosts the {This Moment} See Beautiful Blog Hop. Back in June, it was the first anniversary of the hop and Sugar gave away some very special prizes. Well, we ended up winning “The Soul of the Dog” Dog’s Eye painting by Sheila Wedegis. We chose to have her paint LittleBear’s eyes. He is no longer with us, but he was our heart and soul. He was an only dog for the first part of his life with us, and even though we love our current two very much, he was our “once in a lifetime dog”. There have been some delays, as Sheila has been traveling, but we hope to have it soon. We are just very thankful to have won such a very special prize.
Regarding the hop, Sugar welcomes anyone to join and you can read the details at her original invitation, as well as see all the previous posts here.

Ann over at Pawsitively Pets was giving away a copy of the book “How to Change the World in 30 Seconds” by C.A. Wulff. We won! The book is a quick read and is full of information and tips for anyone wanting to be a voice for animals online, especially those who are completely new to animal advocacy. For me, much of the information was familiar territory, but I also had some learning moments as well. I liked that everything was presented in a simple and straightforward format – there was no fluff. I definitely wanted to learn more about the author herself, and it turns out she has written a number of other books, is an artist, and blogs at Up on the Woof.
Thank you to Ann and to Miss Wulff!

Finally, a prize for the wieners to rejoice about! Treats! We won some SmartCookee treats from Gizmo at Terrier Torrent. There were two flavors to choose from, I Yam What I Yam and PB’N Jelly Time. We chose the I Yam What I Yam, but as you can see, we got the PB’N Jelly Time instead. That’s okay, ‘cuz they were delish! Seriously. They’re already gone. They smelled really good and I was extremely tempted to try one myself. I could have too – they only had five ingredients: organic oat flour, peanut butter, blueberries, strawberries, and chia seeds. But I had a feeling they might not be sweet enough for my taste buds, so the wieners got them all. We even received a tote bag along with our treats!
Thank you to Gizmo and the folks at SmartCookee!
A lot of bloggers manage to get shots of their dogs being handed treats. You see the outstretched hand, the usually big, expectant eyes of the dog(s), the treat going into the dog’s open mouth. Well, to this day, I have never successfully managed one of those shots. Trying to manage a camera in one hand, give a treat with the other, and get a picture that’s something more than a blur… folks, they are Dachshunds… I am lucky I still have fingers. Maybe I just need a better camera or learn how to better use the one I have. You’ll have to settle for some “waiting for treats” pics, rather than the much-adored “getting the treats” pics.
Congrats on all the winnings! Too funny about trying to get “being handed treats” photos. I go with the “sports” setting on my camera when I take those shots! 🙂
Oh my, those photos are adorable. We don’t need to see them actually getting the treats. I can’t get those shots either. I pulled a muscle in my neck trying one time.
Congrats on all of your winnings….lots of fun stuff!
Thanks so much for participating in TNT! Oh those expectant faces. Hard to make them wait to get a picture…lol. Congrats on all your winnings!
With all that luck, I sure hope you played the lottery too!!!
Your dogs are lovely. Congrats on your winnings.
Well I personally think the “waiting for treats photos” are just adorable. 🙂
