BEFORE CONTACTING ME, READ BELOW FIRST
If you are contacting me because you need to rehome/surrender a Dachshund, you need to please refer to the LIST of Dachshund rescues that is the main page and primary purpose of this website. If you refer to the main page (here), you will find a state-by-state list of rescues, as well as some who operate regionally and nationwide. If you are needing to surrender a Dachshund, it is recommended that you reach out to as many who operate in or near your area. If you don’t find your state on the list, then reach out to those under the Operating in Multiple States section towards the top of the page. I apologize for any confusion, but we do not personally operate a rescue and cannot take the dog you are needing to rehome. We are just regular people who have rescue Dachshunds ourselves that we have adopted from different rescue organizations. I am a strong advocate for rescue and adoption, which is why I created the list as a resource for others looking to adopt or needing to surrender.
If you are wanting to adopt, YAY! I’m so happy you’re considering adoption! The advice is basically the same as above, to revisit the main page and search for a Dachshund rescue that operates near you (or regionally/nationwide). You should also check your local shelters and rescues, as well as PetFinder.com, PetHarbor.com, AdoptaPet.com, Petango.com, and RescueMe.org.
If you are contacting me for financial help, again, we are just regular people. I recommend you reach out to Dachshund Friends in Deed, Dollar for Doxies, and Dachshund World Charities, as well as look into other resources listed on this page.
