PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Below is a state-by-state list of Dachshund rescues, as well as some that operate nationwide. Please scroll down to find a rescue that operates near you. This list is provided strictly as a reference resource. A rescue’s inclusion on this list is not intended as an endorsement. As with anything else, visitors are expected to do their own research before choosing to work with any organization.
Also, I’d like to note that even though we are Doxie-crazy around here, we strongly encourage the support of any organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of all breeds and mixed breeds. There are millions of dogs waiting in shelters and rescues that deserve a happily-ever-after. There are millions more who will be put down, because no one stepped forward to be their angel. Please consider adopting your next pet from a shelter or rescue near you. For every pet adopted, it saves two animals – the one you adopted, and the one you made room for. Also, if you have the means and the heart, please consider adopting a senior. Seniors have so much love to give, but are often overlooked by adopters and the first to be euthanized (if they are in a kill shelter).

I was at a loss to find out there isn’t one in Utah.
Dachshund Idaho Rescue serves northern Utah, but other than that, I also can’t find any others operating in Utah. 🙁
I was very surprised that there are none for the Northeast area (New York, Mass., Vermont). I live in upstate NY and would love to help.
Many of the nationwide/multi-state Dachshund rescues (listed at the top) operate in the Northeast. I will do a little more research and edit the list to show all the states in which the multi-state rescues operate.
AADR does transports and has foster homes on the east coast. The only states we aren’t licensed in are Connecticut, Massachusettes and Rhode Island. We can always use good drivers.
I am a private Doxie rescue, I also have he quite a large amount that have stayed with me until I find nre homes for. Some have stayed as long as it took .ie a few months to find them a new home .
I would like to join your network ,as it might be another wat to help the babies I rescue to find new homes .
I am in southern Saskatchewan have 3 weiners of my own, two that are rescues one is a wire soft coat and then a blk and tan and the last big boy and king of th castle in a gentle way is Sarge, he is an almost full size wild boar color .

Dachshund Rescue of Charleston WV is not actually operating at this time. It was a very small rescue, and the director had some serious health problems that caused her to take a break. She networks dachshunds, but I don’t think she is actively taking any at this time. However, in WV, you may contact me (I am with Pet Helpers, Inc, an all-breed dog/cat rescue) and I will do what I can to assist in either taking them into our all-breed rescue where we have several dachshund-savvy fosters, or networking them to several of the other rescues along the east coast, listed above.
